Oahu Day 4

Today we got up EARLY to head to Pearl Harbor before the crowds.  We went with our friends Hyrum and Alan.  The memorial was very impressive, and we learned more about the war in the Pacific than we already knew.  We also got a chance to tour the USS Bowfin, a submarine moored nearby the memorial.

Maya and I headed back to the hotel for a nap and some afternoon swimming, and the guys went to head to the top of Diamond Head.  I was sad to miss the trek and views, but Tim's photographs are something of a substitute.

After we cleaned up from our afternoon activities, we went to a "starlight luau."  The food was just ok, and it was a bit windy and sprinkling, but the entertainment (and company) was great.  Maya really enjoyed the dancing.
