Saturday morning, we headed out of Trento to the west. We went first to Trino, where GP is from, had lunch at his mom's, and spent the day around his hometown in Piemonte. We had dinner at a delicious restaurant of typical Piemontese fare. Tim, Maya, and I stayed at a little bed and breakfast (a farmhouse where the owners basically have an extra room they rent) that was really cool. On Sunday, we drove into Torino to check it out. It was REALLY foggy. We planned to spend the morning in the Mole, the strangely shaped tower you see in these pictures. But it was so foggy, we didn't think that experience would be worth it. So we wandered through the historic center of Torino in the morning, in and out of a couple of palazzi, the duomo, and several piazzi. Then we met Amy, GP, and Milena for lunch (delicious!) before going to the park to play for a while. They had to catch up with some other friends, so after the park, we wandered through an old medieval fort, then went to go to the famous Egyptian museum in Torino. Unfortunately, the line to get in was literally hundreds of meters long (down the street and around the block), which we didn't expect. So we switched our plans and headed to the Palazzo Madama to see various historical treasures, mostly from Italy. It was actually quite a lovely museum. We grabbed dinner at a pub before we headed back to the bed and breakfast.
