Monday, we went with Amy, GP, and Milena to Genova. Our first stop: the aquarium (after some focaccia for lunch, of course). It was a great aquarium... and HUGE. We got to see all kinds of things, and even though it was naptime for small girls, they did a pretty good job of enjoying themselves. My favorites: the brittle starfish (it looks kind of like a fiddle-head fern) and these upside-down jellyfish that attach themselves to the ocean floor.
After the aquarium, we headed back to the hotel so the kiddos could rest a bit. Tim and Amy took a walk up so they could look out over the city; the walk back apparently included some spottings of some of the seedier characters of Genova. We all headed out to a delicious dinner of wine (I'm certain there was lots of wine) and fish.
