Sunday, we needed to do something. Sitting around in the apartment on a rainy day with a four year old didn't sound like it was going to maintain our sanity. Plus, it's Italy. It's a rainy day in Italy, but there must be something to see! So we drove down to Mantova (just a little over an hour's drive south of us). We left late, so our first stop was lunch. We stopped at a random restaurant to get out of the rain. It turned out to be packed... and delicious. Tim had a calzone bigger than his head, and I had some pasta soup. Yum. Then we wandered through the myriad piazzi in Mantova. It's really a lovely city, even in the rain. We went into both the Palazzo Ducale and the Palazzo Te, which were both really interesting and beautiful buildings to visit. We very much enjoyed our strolling around the city, even if it was a bit sprinkly. We found a great restaurant for dinner and had the required pumpkin ravioli and it was delicious.
