Salzburg

Yesterday, we walked around Salzburg with the Piccos. We first saw the "horse wash" (like an old fashioned car wash), then we took a lift up to the art museum for a panoramic overview. We continued wandering through the city, meandered through the setup for an orchestra concert, then took the funicular up to the fortress that overlooks the city. Here we saw another marionette exhibit then toured the museum that's part of the fortress and the state rooms itself. Lots more overlooks (and a tower that we climbed). After we were finished, we walked back down to the city for lunch at the oldest restaurant in Europe. It has been in business (albeit not entirely continuously, as a result of the World Wars) since 803. After lunch, we toured the cemetery (and the catacombs that climb the rock face), the cathedral, the Panorama museum (which has a 360 degree panoramic painting of Salzburg), wandered some more streets, played in a park, etc.
