Sores Park and Caldes

We had such fun in the fall when we visited the adventure park at Sores that we decided to head back. This time, however, Amy and I took the big girls on the "real" course, while Tim and GP took the little girls on the little course. Maya was much less scared this time than last time. This time, the only obstacles she balked at were zip lines that went from one tree to another. Zip lines that descended from 20 feet up to the ground... no problem. Huh. The four of us did two courses together. In the middle of the second course, it started to sprinkle. Maya started a third course then decided to go inside. Milena, Amy, and I finished it... though we were soaked (and cold!) when we were done. We went inside and warmed up with some food from the rifugio. I hear the little kids had a good time too. There are more photos of them... cause that's where Tim was.

After lunch, we drove further on into the Val di Sole (through acres and acres and acres of apple orchards) to the town of Caldes. There is a castle in Caldes that has been recently renovated and opened to the public. For now, it's free (and it's not really worth a paid admission). We visited it. The guides were very lovely, there just wasn't a ton to see. But they did give us a tip for a really fantastic local park just down in the river valley from the castle. We headed there, and the kids ran off some energy for a few hours, while we sat on a hillside and watched them. It was exceedingly pleasant.
