On Wednesday, we drove back from L'Aquila to Trento. Because we were driving within 20km of San Marino, and that's a whole different country, we decided to stop. So we drove a half hour off of the autostrada to San Marino to have lunch. San Marino is a tiny country (just 62 square km) completely surrounded by Italy. The historic part of the city sits up on a very tall hill surrounded by fortifications. We parked, then walked up to the main part of the historic district, where we had lunch. We walked a bit through the old town and along the old walls (in the super heat) before heading back to our car and the rest of our drive. Now Cora can say that she's been to a country that Maya hasn't.
