Forte Werk Colle delle Benne e Arte Sella vicino Borgo Valsugana

Tim hiked to this fort just outside of Levico. Maya had already been with the Piccos while we were in L'Aquila, and she said that the hike to the fort was "beautiful". Amy also said the fort itself was really interesting, but Tim arrived too early in the morning to go inside. So he instead hiked back to his car and went to a little "sculpture" park (called Arte Sella) further up the highway. It contains sculptures made of natural materials. He also played a lot with the HDR function in his photo editing software quite a bit, so several of these photos are his creations using multiple photos he "merged" together.

This is a "girasole." That's one of my favorite Italian words, just because it's such a good example of what is so fantastic about Italian. "gira" means "turn" and "sole" means "sun." So much more descriptive than "sunflower."
