Trieste: Saturday

On Saturday, we spent the day simply walking around.  We walked first through the city and up the hill to the Cathedral and the castle and toured them.  There was a wedding going on in the church, so we visited twice.  It was prettier during the wedding when it was all lit up but still beautiful the second time around.  We meandered back down the hill, through a park, and into the main square for a lunch.  Maya and I went back to the hotel so she could take a nap, and Tim wandered some more.  The architecture in Trieste is varied and beautiful, and the main square (Piazza Unita d'Italia) was beautiful by both day and night.

In the evening, we went to a superb seafood restaurant, where we basically ate whatever had been brought in out of the sea that day.

That's our room.  Those are two of our balconies; the third one was around the corner.
