For my family's first full day in Italy, we borrowed a car and went out to Lago di Garda. Sure, the weather forecast wasn't really what one would anticipate for a lake day, but we had it planned, so we went anyway. We got a bit of a late start (my family is on vacation, so I guess I can't complain...). We started by going to the town of Limone. It's just such an adorable town stacked on the edge of the lake and up into the hillside.
We wandered a bit then sat for lunch at an AMAZING local place, where the pasta was made in house, and the fish was fresh from the lake. It was delicious.
Cora took this photo: she collected "treasure" all day...
Maya took this photo of the food being delivered:
We wandered a bit more and bought some salami for tomorrow. Then we got back into the car and headed for Cascata Varone, a waterfall through a water-carved gorge that you can climb into and around to get misty but beautiful views. Most everyone loved it. Maya loved getting damp. Cora thought it was a bit too loud.
Afterwards, we headed back to Trento, stopped by the grocery store, and made some simple pasta and salads for dinner. Maya was invited to stay at the airbnb with my parents and Jocelyn, so the rest of us headed home for bed.
