Sentiero del Castagno
Are you sitting? It is autumn. Sorry to drop that on you if you weren't ready. The leaves are turning here. On Thursday I thought maybe I would try to take some pictures. There is a "famous" trail near here called Sentiero del Castagno (it is about an hour North of Trento, which becomes awfully German awfully fast, so it is more commonly called Keschtenweg). It starts at an abbey (Novacella) near the town of Bressanone and ends 62 kilometers (37 miles) at Castel Roncolo near Bolzano along the Isarco Valley in South Tyrol. I did not walk the entire length. I started in a small town called Velturno and ended in Chiusa by way of the Sabiona Monastery, which is perched on the cliffs above town. I had a nice lunch in Chiusa at a local brewery/pub called Gassl Brau before I retraced my steps. It was a beautiful day, luckily both of my jackets fit in my backpack. Here are some of the photos.
