On Wednesday I took the train north to the ridiculously picturesque town of Merano, specifically to spend the day wandering the Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle. Fun facts about the garden: over 5800 species of plants in 83 different "garden landscapes" spread over 12 hectares (30 acres) with an altitude differential of 100 meters.
