On Monday, jetlag won. Since we were up at 5am, we decided to head out to see the sunrise at South Point Park. There's not a lot notable about this park other than the fact that it is the southern most point of land in the US. And the waves there are pretty. While we were there, though, we decided to take a walk. About a mile up the road was the trailhead for an "easy walk" to the green sand beach (Papakolea). The entire way in on this hike (about 2.5 miles) and for the first 10 minutes we were on the beach, we saw not another soul. We did see a few people on the way back out.
We headed back to the hotel so that Amy could do some conference work, while I lounged at the pool catching up on email.
