Today, we drove from Pisa to Trento. We started with a mini-adventure that involved Amy having accidentally parked her car in the lot where Pisa has a big market on Saturdays. Turns out, her car wasn't there any more. She asked the helpful policeman how she should get it back. He started to give her directions, asking "do you have a car?" After recovering from this question (and its negative answer), Amy got help calling a taxi. The very helpful taxi driver drove us (and all of our luggage) to the police station, where Amy filled out her paper work, paid the ticket (obviously at the tabbachi across the way... see below), before the taxi driver took us on to the impound lot (way out of town). When we arrived there, the gentleman working outside said "the office is closed!" but apparently it was closed for everything BUT retrieving a towed car. Amy paid this fee as well, and we were on our way with only about an hour's delay.
We headed towards Trento, but stopped off in Lucca because I've never been, and this is Jamie's first trip to Italy. We wandered briefly on the wall, then into the Duomo and up its bell tower. Then we had lunch before we completed the drive to Trento.
