On Tim and Maya's last day in New Mexico, we went to Tent Rocks National Monument on the way back towards the airport in Albuquerque. This was the most beautiful natural scenery we saw on the entire trip. This was about a 3 mile round trip hike; a chunk of it was purported to be "difficult" and "steep." We decided to try it anyway; we figured Maya and I could just wait for Tim to complete the difficult part. We kept expecting the path to get more difficult... but it never did. Tim carried Maya for the easy walk part of the hike, then she insisted she wanted to walk on her own. She ended up doing most of the "climb" (which was reported to be about a 600 foot elevation change in what should have been about a quarter of a mile) herself; it was very impressive. Tim took photos; it's my job to whittle them, but you can see that I've mostly failed to pick a select few. But they're all so great...
