Our Little Texan (Or "Don't Tell Tim")

Maya and I were making pizza last night, and listening to a little music. When Sara Evans came on singing "Suds in the Bucket" Maya went nuts. She was bopping and dancing all over. She even threw in a "Yee haw" in response to one in the song, no kidding. (It's hard to blame her; if you haven't heard the song, it's hard not to at least tap your foot...)

Tim would be horrified.

Cute!

I just listened to that song, and I have a small issue with it. That's more of the Nashville-based country pop than Texas country.

You should listen to KUT more. They play more of the "better" country, and it's not so horrifying. ;)

Sean Leather reads my blog? Insane! How are you?

I will try to be more Texas-correct in our future music selections.

I hope you weren't expecting your blog to be a private session. ;)

I'm currently working on my PhD in the Netherlands in generic programming with Haskell. I've been here for 1.2 years so far.

As for Texas music, you should try Eliza Gilkyson. I saw her at the Cactus Cafe. Or Lucinda Williams. I saw her at ACL.

In general, I didn't care much for country until I discovered KUT. Having grown up in Tennessee with Nashville crap, I thought it was all the same. But there's some good stuff out there.

I love that song too! And Brian can join Tim in shaking his head at our musical taste. I keep meaning to put it on my playlist called "Sing-along country" which I think Brian has changed to "Jaydee's bad country". We should turn up the volume really loud and dance with Maya on Saturday :)
